The Australian Institute of Public Safety is located at
400 Queen Street Melbourne and is easily accesible by all modes
of public transport. We are in walking distance of both
Flagstaff and Melbourne Central stations and trams travelling
along Elizabeth Street.
Established in 1990, the Australian Institute of Public
Safety is an Australian owned independent tertiary education
provider offering a range of degree and graduate qualifications
in criminal justice, public safety and security.
The courses are accredited by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority and are offered on both a full-time
and part-time basis*.
All Institute courses have been designed in consultation
with employers, industry, academics and professional associations,

The courses each consist of 24 subjects (units of study):
18 core (compulsory) units and six electives taken towards
the end of a student's academic study, which are relevant
to the student’s careers ambitions.
All students complete a placement, also towards the end
of their course, which allows students to complete the course
with professional knowledge and experience.
Students will complete a major research project which is
designed to extend students’ research, written, analytical
and critical thinking skills.
